Misc Ramblings and Birthdays

Wow a LOT going on this week. Really like tons and tons. The In-laws got some huge bags of fresh peaches from their neighbor who has some peach trees. They were soooo ripe they were melting in your mouth. Grandma and I decided to make 2 huge cobblers, one for us and one for the in-laws. They were sooo tasty. The kids helped of course and took turns with the rolling pin. We really do love baking here at the house. Joe and the kids a couple night later made some delicious brownies as well.
We all played hooky on Wednesday! Joe took the day off from work and I took the day off from my online work and painting. We took the kids out for a day of fun! It was special because Mikey turned 5! OMG he's getting so big. Our first stop was to the Indianapolis Zoo. We went when it opened of course because that's when the animals are out and about.
It was amazing there were so many animals up close. This trip was the best one we've ever taken I think. Here are some random close up pictures. The Emu's of course were poking around.


The Lioness was peering at us like we were hiding a steak LOL. The elephant was taking a nice bath. We even saw the babboons and their new babys. The cute little things were hanging on the bellys as they walked. They were too cute.
We stopped in the routunda to check on my painting on display. I think it looked jsut wonderful! Hehe gotta love all the stars I'm sporting :D
Our next stop was at the $1 movies to see Kung Fu Panda! The kids loved it! It was joeys first movie trip but mikey is a pro at it. Joey mainly sat and stuffed popcorn in his mouth lol. I think they had a blast thou. Now I'm just getting ready for the weekend. Sat I have a few errands to run with my gal pal Brandy. She is totally helping me out a million planning Mikeys party and cake. Then I have my monthly artist meeting at The Bean Cup which should be great as always. Then to the pet store for Mikeys suprise present! Firebelly Toads and Newts!!!! Then home to wrap presents, bake the cake, and decorate a bit. Sunday is the BIG PIRATE BIRTHDAY BASH. well not so big just a few of his friends but he can't wait and I think its going to be great. Anyways thats whats up with me and the family. Later!!
